Special guest host, Verta Maloney runs her own business helping individuals and organizations share their racial autobiographies and stories in order to act on and undo racism in this lifetime. She is also co-founder and Chief Community Officer at the*gameHERs, a gaming community for wome, and a founding team member at Civics Unplugged because she knows #TheKidsWillLead.
Team 20s: Drisana Hughes is the Senior Program Director of Civics Unplugged (CU), a civics organization that trains Gen Z activists and leaders. She has worked on ballot initiatives and independent political campaigns in New York, Colorado, and Kansas. She’s also a certified yoga teacher and meditation enthusiast.
Team 30s: Charreah K. Jackson has supported more than one million leaders to desire higher and boldly receive as an executive coach, transformation trainer and global speaker. She is the author of Boss Bride and a contributor for ELLE and The New York Times.
Team 40s: Christine Platt is a literacy advocate and activist for social justice and policy reform. Christine serves as the Managing Director of the Antiracist Research & Policy Center at American University under the leadership of Dr. Ibram X. Kendi. She also curates The Afrominimalist—a creative platform chronicling her journey to minimalism.
Team 50s: Crystal Durant is a multifaceted artist and musician who performs under the moniker DJ CrystalClear. She studies and works in graphic design, photography, metalsmithing, printmaking, and art education. Crystal is also a live figure model, and social justice speaker and storyteller.
Team 60s: Loretta Ross is a Visiting Associate Professor at Smith College teaching “White Supremacy in the Age of Trump.” Her forthcoming book is Calling In the Calling Out Culture. Her most recent publications, Reproductive Justice: An Introduction and Radical Reproductive Justice, reflect her lifelong passions and beliefs.
Team 70s: Wannetta Phillips is a retired ATT accountant after working there 37 years and former elected member of the Democratic Party. She’s now a community organizer.
