Does getting older mean getting wiser? Or are there always lessons to learn, no matter how many candles are on the birthday cake? This June, join us for "Coming-of-Age: Stories of Wising Up," a night of stories all about growing up and the things we figure out along the way. Whether you are thinking back to being 16, pondering your thirties, or looking forward to hitting age 50, 60, 70, or beyond, each storyteller in our intergenerational line-up brings a unique perspective on aging and growth. Come ready to laugh, to feel, to be inspired by the way we’re able to keep evolving, at any age.

Team 20s: Sunny Laprade is a comedian based in New York City. She was a finalist in the 2023 P3 Comedy Festival and is currently competing as a semi-finalist in the 2023 New York Queer Comedy Festival. Her first standup comedy special, Queer Enough, is available now.

Team 30s: Malika Bhowmik is a storyteller, writer, performer and clinical psychologist. She’s as passionate about vulnerable authenticity as she is about comedic irreverence. She’s studied and performed at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater, the Squirrel Comedy Theater, the New York Film Academy, and the Gotham Writers workshop.

Team 40s: Cara Alwill is a bestselling author, host of the Style Your Mind podcast, and self-proclaimed nostalgia whore. She is currently working on her 10th book, Don’t Do Anything I Would Do, a humorous essay collection about her absolutely horrifying love life.

Team 50s: Gina Jarrin is a real New Yorker — so much that she was almost born in a taxi cab in 1966. She’s adapted a Joan Didion novel with her husband which you'll see as a limited series soon. Daughters Grace and Charlotte are her life.

Team 60s: Deborah Goemans is a writer, photographer, storyteller, dancer, and acrobat. Her stories are drawn from a life lived in five countries on three continents.

Team 70s: Pamela Vassil is retired, but hardly retiring. Writer. Activist. Volunteer. Mother. “Gramma.” Friend. Figuring out how to survive on Social Security. All while in search of a really funny joke and a really good man who can tell it.
