Team 20s: Daven McQueen is an author from Los Angeles, CA who writes about identity, deep friendship, and growing up. Her first novel, The Invincible Summer of Juniper Jones, was released in June 2020. She lives in Boston with her cat, Nico, and works in education.
Team 30s: Sofía Cerda Campero is a Brooklyn-based bilingual journalist and translator from Mexico City. Her work focuses on identity, gender equality and the complex and multicultural Latinx diaspora in the U.S. She is also a co-host of Remotas, a Spanish-language podcast that discusses Latina womanhood through narrative essays and interviews.
Team 40s: Ari Honarvar is the founder of Rumi With A View, dedicated to building music and poetry bridges across war-torn and conflict-ridden borders. Her writing has appeared in The Guardian, Teen Vogue, Washington Post, and elsewhere. She is the author of the oracle card set and book, Rumi’s Gift. Her debut novel is forthcoming in 2021.
Team 50s: Patricia (Patty) Smith is the author of the novel The Year of Needy Girls, a Lambda Literary Award finalist. Her work has appeared in numerous literary magazines and in several anthologies. A teacher of American literature and Creative Writing, she lives in Chester, VA with her wife.
Team 60s: Robin Bady is an award-winning storyteller, writer, and teacher. She’s the founder of “No, We Won’t Shut Up!”, a project showcasing women speaking about racism, bigotry, sexual assault and more. She’s the host of the BADYHouse Storytelling Concerts and her solo show, Nancy Drewinsky and the Search for the Missing Letter, will be online soon.
Team 70s: Laura Simms is an award-winning storyteller, writer, and educator. She performs worldwide, combining ancient myth and true life stories, to help achieve personal and community transformation. She is the Artistic Director of the Hans Christian Andersen Storytelling Center in NY and the founder of The Center for Engaged Storytelling.
